The current approach to governance remains unbalanced. We must strengthen supervision of economic policies and ensure effective compliance with fiscal consolidation. We must also take appropriate steps to find a solution to macro-financial imbalances. Better coordination and harmonisation of tax policies are desirable, as well as an attempt at further measures leading to new revenues. It is important to supervise long-term investments in order to maintain sustainable economic growth. In this context, euro funds are also a correct and essential component of a balanced and strengthened economy. In my opinion, the crisis should be used as an opportunity to transform society in the direction of a highly efficient economy. This is another reason why a strong cohesion policy is needed in the effort to achieve the set objectives and the reforms planned for the forthcoming period."@en1
