lpv:translated text	"I voted in favour of this recommendation, facilitating the cross-border exchange of information on road safety-related traffic offences, because it will help to improve road safety, and harmonise road safety policies and enforcement procedures throughout the EU. I believe there should be further convergence in addressing issues concerning the harmonisation of checking and technical equipment among the Member States. With the implementation of the provisions of this directive, drivers will be better informed about the consequences of not respecting road safety traffic rules when travelling in another Member State, and the authorities of the Member State in which the offence was committed will be able to do their job rapidly and more efficiently. It should be noted that whenever data is exchanged between Member States, the protection of the person’s fundamental rights and their personal data must be guaranteed."@en1
