lpv:translated text	"I fully support the agreement that has been reached between Parliament and the Council on the cross-border exchange of information on safety-related road traffic offences. Even though this agreement is less ambitious than the Commission’s initial proposal, it should, however, put an end to the impunity enjoyed by some drivers, who place their own lives and those of other people at risk when they commit serious offences. It will now be possible for the identities of these reckless drivers to be forwarded to the authorities in the State in which the offence was committed. I hope this provision will help reduce the number of offences and accidents, which are especially high during this summer holiday season."@en1
