"I wholeheartedly supported this report to strengthen protection for consumers across Wales. This new legislation will protect those consumers purchasing products on line - customers will now have a period of two weeks in which to change their mind about on-line purchases. This new legislation takes in to account the "digital revolution" and will help both consumers and traders alike. Cross border selling will become easier, helping both consumers and traders alike. The Consumer Rights Directive also signals the end of high credit and debit card fees, which many people pay when purchasing on line - I am pleased to say that this report outlaws the practice of adding credit or debit card payment fees that bear no relation to costs incurred when processing an on-line transaction. I hope that the British Government will implement these new rules without delay to ensure the protection of consumers across the UK."@en1
