The European Council has a few things planned for the agenda of its meeting. With regard to the Greek crisis, it is finally to be made clear that the European Union does not just stand for ‘give’ or ‘take’ but that it works on the principle of ‘give and take’. However, that also means that if a country receives help, this country must also follow the measures that are put in place for this purpose. The improvement of the Stability and Growth Pact is very much to be welcomed, simply to prevent any further financial disasters being experienced by a Member State. With regard to the planned accession of Croatia, the fact that Croatia fulfils the accession criteria is something to be welcomed, but it nevertheless has to be asked how the funding of approximately EUR 500 million to which Croatia is entitled is actually to be financed."@en1
