Both countries have met all the criteria. It is therefore unreasonable to add other conditions such as an assessment of policies on combating corruption and crime. These issues are undoubtedly important, but the proposal is purely politically motivated. Adding new criteria would create a two-tier system for Member States. This vision of a two-speed Europe, with different rules for old and new Member States, is quite simply unacceptable."@en1
