"In light of the fact that the World Health Organisation maintains that ‘no solid evidence exists to be able to say that adding DHA to infant formula will have important clinical benefits’, I chose to vote against allowing companies to make unsubstantiated claims about the health benefits of DHA. There is a danger that these potentially misleading claims could result in an increase in formula milk being given to children who could lose out on vital nutrients, such as DHA, that are found naturally in breast milk."@en1
