lpv:translated text	"I gave this report my vote, because in the 21st century it is vital that we ensure that rape is considered a crime everywhere in Europe and that the perpetrators of these crimes face criminal prosecution and punishment. It is not acceptable that at present, depending on which country they live in, not all victims of these hateful crimes enjoy the same opportunities to obtain justice and reparation for the violence done to them. The ball is now in the court of the Council and Commission, who surely will not prevent this crucial step towards helping women who are victims of this violence to obtain reparation for their suffering."@en¹
