Doctors must regulate and prescribe medicines to patients, in order to avoid speculation and competition between drug manufacturers. Pharmaceutical companies should be limited to providing support in the form of information, but in no event must they be allowed to try and foist their products on patients. Doctors are responsible for treatment; they must also decide which medicines should be administered to the patient in the course of that treatment."@en1
