"Question 20 by Marc Tarabella ()
Regulations (EC) No 261/2004and No 1371/2007bestow a highly important set of minimum rights on all air and rail passengers in the European Union. In each Member State, an independent body is responsible for monitoring the implementation of these regulations.
How can the Commission ensure that the supervisory bodies apply the regulations in a uniform manner and have sufficient resources to respond rapidly to challenges, in particular, in view of the rather chaotic way in which airline passengers were dealt with following the Icelandic volcano crisis?"@en1
