lpv:translated text	"Mr President, I voted in favour of this undoubtedly important resolution because it raises the level of protection and guarantees with regard to future drilling in all seas, but especially in fragile seas and in those that have specific features that must be duly taken into account. Equally important is the attempt to draw attention to the responsibility and financial liability of operators who perform this profitable activity, which requires necessary precautions in order to prevent what has happened elsewhere, such as in the Gulf of Mexico, from happening in our own seas. Clearly, environmental protection does not mean denying the right to take entrepreneurial initiatives, but it does require a precautionary approach – as Commissioner Oettinger referred to it – in cooperation with other third countries to ensure the safety of our seas."@en1
