The full implementation of the customs union between the EU and Turkey, in place since 1996, is going through the elimination of the remaining bureaucratic impediments along with tariff and non-tariff barriers. I believe the need for Turkey to put women’s employment at the centre of its economic and social policies to be equally important, given the low level of women’s participation in the labour market."@en1
