I agree totally with Ms de Lange and other speakers that the time for action is well upon us. The economic arguments are irrefutable: a EUR 50 billion loss now, 1% of GDP, rising in 2050 to EUR 14 trillion if not averted.
This can be a win-win situation for us, but two things are needed. I agree with Mr Nicholson: the carrot, certainly, when it comes to fishermen and farmers, but also education, in particular, where young people are concerned."@en1
