lpv:translated text	"In view of the obligations of EU Member States and the need for compliance with the provisions of the Treaty of Lisbon, I decided to endorse the report on progress towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals: mid-term review in preparation of the UN high-level meeting in September 2010. The European Union, which is the world’s biggest donor of development aid, should take action to realise its priorities, such as reducing and eliminating poverty. In relation to this, we expect the European Council to adopt a united position on the matter when it meets at the summit in June 2010, several months before the UN high-level meeting on assessment of the progress made towards the Millennium Development Goals. For problems in developing countries, such as poverty, hunger, health care and education, must be combated consistently."@en1
