"There has been a change of political leadership in Ukraine but there has been no change for the general population of Ukraine. It is a population which may be impoverished, but which lives in a country that is extremely rich and has enormous potential.
From this perspective, I believe that the European Union should continue the dialogue with Ukraine and press for a more intensive and more effective dialogue. Ukraine genuinely needs help from the EU, and it is, above all, the people that need it, not the politicians, but the people of Ukraine, and cooperation between Ukraine and the EU could result in a very strong partnership, as well as very strong collaboration and a very strong boost to the economy. I would like us to show greater initiative in this area."@en1
