I believe that agriculture is an area which can contribute to the European Union’s development and is, at the same time, an important sector because it is at the heart of the European way of life. Last but not least, particular attention must be focused on agriculture because it has been hit extremely hard by the economic crisis. In order to ascertain the extent of the impact, we only need to look at the reduction in real income per agricultural worker, which has reached as much as 35% in some European Union Member States."@en1
