".
Readmission is an important issue, one that has been on the agenda of the joint debates between the European Union and African countries, and most recently of last year’s joint conference on migration in Tripoli. This is true of many areas, of course, as – even though this has not had a decisive influence on the present discussion – there is currently a wave of migration not only from South to North, but also from East to West. In that regard, the very issue of whether it is possible to arrive at regulations for the respective readmission agreements is always included in discussions on visa provisions. This is also the case in the talks with African Union countries, for example. I cannot give you any figures at present as to the countries with which such agreements have already been concluded, but I am sure we shall be able to provide these at a later date."@en1
