"Honourable Members, I should like once again to thank the rapporteur and all those who contributed to this report, which as I can see from the discussion is seen as a joint success of the European institutions. It is clear from the discussion that the programme is regarded as being sensibly arranged and equipped with the appropriate resources. It is also clear that the manner in which the report was submitted is regarded as being appropriate to the situation – and at this point I should like to highlight the fact that the report will be submitted directly to Parliament. Ladies and gentlemen, we must seize the opportunity to ensure that, from 1 January 2007, we pursue an effective and successful implementation of all of the aims and objectives envisaged in the programme, thereby fulfilling the expectations that are sure to have arisen through the success of this phase."@en1
