"Mr President, I would like to draw your attention to a problem which arose a few weeks ago, and which is a recurrence of a problem which also arose last year. The matter concerns raids on Polish construction companies in Germany and their destruction. Many companies are scared to talk about this, and some have told of incidents which occur during the inspections carried out by finance officers or customs officers, and which remind me of scenes from the Second World War.
I will give you just one example. The company
which has operated on the German market for 16 years, was checked during the past weeks by 250 officials. The German newspaper
printed on its front page a photo of a Polish worker standing in front of a wall with his hands up against the wall, being inspected by customs and finance officers. This company has been in operation for 16 years. The company’s computers were confiscated, as was the sum of EUR 1.2 million. How are these companies supposed to operate in the European Union?"@en1
