"Question No 12 by Liam Hyland ()
Earlier this year the Commission announced its support for the launching of a demonstration project involving the use of hydrogen energy in buses in Iceland, a non EU Member State but a country which is paving the way for sustainable urban transport.
Given the EU’s welcome commitment to stand by the Kyoto Protocol and its continued support for sustainable development, will the Council ensure that the EU’s welcome support for this project, which is the first in a series of fuel bus demonstrations taking place in Europe in the years to come, will be given top priority as hydrogen energy is a true zero emission technology, and will it ensure that this demonstration project is extended to rural transport and not just urban transport projects?"@en1
