Since we have no special preferences regarding the duration of part-sessions, we abstained from the vote on the proposed calendar.
Yet we do believe that whatever the majority that emerges from Members’ votes, the employees of the European Parliament, officials and others, must not be made to suffer in any way from this decision, and in particular must not have their salaries reduced. There is no reason to penalise the staff simply because of the way the Members choose to work, i.e. their own convenience."@en1
