I do, however, deplore the fact that this proposal is set to replace a resolution on Venezuela which is the follow up to a visit to that country by an official delegation from the European Parliament following the serious floods which devastated that country, especially as we have not had an opportunity to discuss the matter since then. I shall personally, therefore, abstain from voting on the proposal, though unwillingly. I would much rather the proposal had not been made, even though I do agree completely with Paul Lannoye’s argument."@en1
