"Mr President, Mr Rübig has spoken from the heart. I do see the significance of a policy on information, also after my experience of many years as a Member of the European Parliament, not just in the “higher spheres” but also among very young people, among children, who absorb information like a sponge and utilise it throughout their lives. I shall certainly strive to ensure that the programmes, the cultural programmes and the youth programmes are applied not just to high schools and universities, but that cooperation between schools is promoted in primary schools too. For this, we do not actually need long journeys, as these cost a great deal of money and cannot be paid for. But different schoolrooms in different countries can be connected via the Internet. This is an idea which is close to my heart and which I will willingly take up."@en1
