Triples with object UKIP supports country of origin labelling to help producers selling their goods and for consumers to know with certainty where their food is coming from. We believe in the importance of defending the interests of farmers and consumers, whilst preventing large retailers from confusing buyers. We have abstained on the final vote because, as much as we agree with the desirability of mandatory country of origin labelling, this should be a matter for Member States to determine alone.
