"Mr President, I have a point of order. I rise under Rule 11(3). Last year the Conference of Presidents appointed Mr Guy Verhofstadt as the European Parliament’s Brexit negotiator, but Mr Verhofstadt has in addition four outside jobs. That’s four. Three of these jobs pay up to EUR 5 000 per month and one of them pays more than EUR 10 000 per month. As we all know, Mr Verhofstadt is of course a man of integrity, a man of honour and a man of probity. But how, therefore, can a man of Mr Verhofstadt’s integrity in good conscience carry out and fulfil all his responsibilities in his four outside jobs and be the European Parliament’s Brexit negotiator? I would ask that this appointment be reconsidered."@en1
