I think there is an absolute link between the European model of social rights and economic growth – it strangles it; it’s the whole reason why the EU lags behind in growth, and why countries outside of it grow quicker, with all these well—intentioned schemes and costly ideas. What you actually do is cripple your economies. A better idea is to live by your means, live how you can afford – and yes, give people good rights and good conditions, but let’s work for them, let’s earn them, and let’s compete for them."@en1
