"Whilst I strongly support women’s rights and welcome criticism of countries that are lagging behind with women’s rights legislation, this report at the same time calls for yet more EU legislation and yet more powers to be taken away from Member States. I firmly believe that individual Member States are best placed to ensure that women’s rights are protected and enhanced, free from the burden of EU meddling. I voted to abstain on this report."@en1
