"Madam President, the problem with this report is that you believe in certain universal rights. So do I, and so do most people in Europe. Unfortunately, most of the world does not. Many of the people now coming into Europe are showing by their behaviour – whether in Cologne, Malmö or Brussels – the contempt with which they regard both the rights of women and the rights of homosexuals and transgender people. You see, being homosexual myself I care that our streets are safe for all, regardless of gender or gender preference. When will the EU learn that freedom, including freedom of speech, is non-negotiable? Migrants must fit in with our values, not vice versa. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is non-negotiable too."@en1
