I voted in favour of the first ECR resolution as the wording was much better than the compromise resolution because it stressed: ‘that it is the sovereign right of a Member State to ratify and implement the Convention and its provisions’. I abstained on the second compromise resolution because it called on the EU to sign up to Convention in its own right (I cannot legitimise the EU signing up to international agreements in its own right)."@en1
