"This report amends the current plan governing long-term stocks, which were not doing enough to ensure recovery of fish mortality and had little stakeholder support. The amendments will increase cooperation between fisheries, industries and scientists and is intended as a stopgap until a multi-species plan is introduced. This moves us towards the more sustainable fishing environment that we urgently need.
It is interesting to note that while the Brexiteers have been howling about EU fishing quotas back in the UK, the report was adopted unanimously in the European Parliament’s Fisheries Committee, even though it was led by a pro-Brexit MEP."@en1
