"I could not support a resolution that, by seeking to link the MFF and the 2017 Budget, could result in the MFF ceilings being broken and increased national contributions. I do not support such an attempt to hold the 2017 budget hostage in order to achieve higher national contributions. The EU spending limits should be respected and we should not put agreement of the budget at risk like this at a time when Europe is facing multiple crises."@en1
