By ratifying the Paris Agreement in less than a year from its negotiation, we have shown that we can unite to take assertive action. With the next round of global climate talks rapidly approaching, this is no time for us to sit on our laurels – the world cannot wait and neither should we. We must put in place policies that limit the rise in global average temperatures to no more than 1.5° Celsius, while allowing a just transition which provides working people and their communities with high-quality jobs and produces sustainable growth for our economies. With today's resolution, which I wholeheartedly support, we have sent out a clear message to the negotiators in the upcoming talks. All economic sectors, all industries and all peoples have their role to play. There can be no more excuses; now is the time for action."@en1
