"I voted in favour of this report which proposes means of improving the job creation potential of SMEs while emphasising the need for high standard of protection of workers. The report advocates quality jobs creation, high standards for workers’ protection and calls for means to overcome the gender pay gap. Any strategy on SMEs must include support for cooperatives and alternative business models that have so much potential for a more ethical way of doing business, and bringing more flexibility and accountability to the private sector. We must also ensure that vulnerable excluded groups have access to entrepreneurship education, particularly women and girls, who face greater obstacles and prejudice. We must make sure that we share best practice on enabling women and girls to become entrepreneurs."@en1
