lpv:spoken text	"This report was concerned with European cooperation in education and training. While there were some progressive provisions, particularly those which addressed the need to include refugees and migrants in the education system, the report contained instructions on harmonising national education and training systems, and that runs contrary to the principle of subsidiarity. Sinn Féin is committed to ensuring that the principle of subsidiarity is respected and strengthened at national level. In everyday language, subsidiarity means that decisions should be made at the lowest level possible, i.e. at the level of power that should take action. Erosion or breaches of the principle of subsidiarity can lead to unintended consequences – undermining, for example, citizens’ faith in the European Union – and should, therefore, be avoided. Whilst the report contained some progressive elements, these failed to mitigate the erosion of the principle of subsidiarity, and I therefore voted against it."@en1
