"I voted against this draft regulation as it aims to promote the free movement of citizens and businesses by simplifying the acceptance of certain public documents in the European Union. It also foresees simplification of other formalities related to the cross-border acceptance of public documents, namely of certified copies and certified translations. I do not believe that this regulation would benefit the citizens of the European Union due to the numerous concerns regarding safety and security."@en1
