In particular, I voted in favour of an amendment which highlighted the destructive impact which trade agreements such as TTIP, TiSA and CETA could have on achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These goals were laid down by the United Nations on 25 September 2015 and the aim is to work towards these goals by 2030 and the EU has agreed to fully implement the Agenda These goals include aims to eradicate poverty, hunger, illiteracy and disease, provide clean water, take action on climate change and achieve gender equality. The resolution also calls for the Commission to come forward with proposals for an overarching strategy on how these goals can be incorporated at all policy levels and for a detailed timeline for review, which I and my Sinn Féin colleagues will be monitoring closely."@en1
