lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of this directive, which lays down common measures against unlawful acquisition, use and disclosure of trade secrets, aims at striking the right balance between effective protection of the trade-secret holders’ interests and fundamental rights. Trade secrets are particularly important for SMEs and start-ups as these often lack specialised human resources and financial strength to manage and defend their IPRs in which they have invested a great share. Different Member States’ legislation creates an uneven level of protection of trade secrets against their unlawful acquisition, thus leading to fragmentation of the internal market for information and know-how. The harmonisation of EU trade secret law will improve conditions for firms to develop, exchange and use innovative knowledge; it will help businesses and innovators to boost confidence through legal certainty."@en1
