"It is always a pleasure to receive questions from you, Mr Hökmark. One of the things that is very important is the idea that you say a jungle – while I say competitive regulations across the globe – which is resulting in the fact that in the euro area you have high unemployment, negative inflation, almost deflation, and low productivity, when those countries, like the United Kingdom, which are outside of the euro area, which has a more flexible competitive basis, are the ones that are seeing high growth, high employment levels, high productivity, much better than those in the European Union. The question you have to ask yourself is, by having one single set of rules, why is it that that one single set of rules is destroying Europe, while those who have competitive rules are improving across the globe?"@en1
