"Mr President, I was going to start by explaining to our UKIP colleague what this is about: that the whole point is that it is about preventing the freedom of movement from being abused to undercut terms and conditions in local markets. It does not have to be like that and we can prevent it being like that. I was going to explain that to him, but of course he is not here because he has done his 60 seconds for YouTube and then buggered off to the bar, as they always do. But while I have got 30 seconds left, let me just congratulate the Commissioner on actually listening and actually making a difference. Lots of colleagues have talked about how much work remains to be done on this. Universal collective bargaining is no use to us at all in the UK because we do not use that kind of system; we need sectoral- and company—level collective bargaining. 24 months is no use; we need 6 months. But on the principle of having listened and come back with a different proposal, I thank the Commissioner."@en1
