"Madam President, I would like to raise a constituency issue and put forward my strong opposition to the proposed new Thames crossing in Thurrock. This is not about whether the EU is good or bad, but about what is best for Thurrock. This new crossing will increase pollution above domestic and EU levels, will increase traffic and congestion, breaking Thurrock’s road network, and will take away people’s homes. This government and our Tory MP may want to dump on Thurrock, but we will fight this all the way. The government can pick a fight with the people of Thurrock, but I guarantee to you that the government will come off worse. Thurrock is not just my constituency; it is my home, and together, united, we will fight this new crossing all the way."@en1
