"I recognise the enormous importance of the European single market in the 21st century, particularly in the field of digital and ICT technologies. As the digital single market is expanded, the EU must also ensure inclusive access to the internet and other technologies, and promote a high degree of digital literacy, ICT education and life-long learning. Particularly, it must strive for the inclusion of women and girls in fields of ICT, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) and entrepreneurship.
Likewise, the EU must ensure that internet rights and freedoms are upheld, with a balance between freedom of expression, privacy and online safety."@en1
