"Madam President, I am not here to criticise an Ombudsman who is doing a difficult job under tough circumstances. When 46% of people have no trust in the European Union, the figure in the United Kingdom is surely far higher. We have revolving door cases involving high-ranking officials; we have an incredibly low rate of any officials actually being sacked when there is any misconduct. It was The Beatles who used to finish their shows by telling the audience: You’re such a lovely audience, we’d love to take you home with us, but unfortunately we took the last audience home and there’s no more room. Well, I truly believe that if the British people could be the audience, if they could come out here to Brussels and see what I see on a daily basis, if it were not so remote, if they could see all the excesses of this place then on 23 June they would vote to leave."@en1
