"Labour MEPs strongly support the swift introduction of Real Driving Emissions (RDE) testing so that emission tests for cars reflect pollution emitted on the road and not just in laboratories. The proposed draft Regulation will allow manufacturers to bring to the market vehicles emitting more than double the amount of nitrogen oxides (NOx) set by the Euro 6 emission standards agreed by the co-legislators in 2007. Furthermore, the figure of 1.5 contradicts the Commission’s own assessment of average PEMS error of measurement, which calculated a maximum conformity factor of 1.2. By changing the emission limit values enshrined in the Basic EU Regulation, the draft Regulation exceeds implementing powers provided for in the basic Euro 6 Regulation."@en1
