"I supported this report, which is aimed at boosting economic growth, creating sustainable jobs and empowering women. At the moment, women make up only a third of entrepreneurs, which means that there is great untapped potential. By addressing issues such as childcare provision, parental leave for the self-employed and encouraging girls to work in areas with high growth potential such as IT and new technologies we can begin to bridge the entrepreneurial gender gap. This has benefits for society as a whole, with some estimates indicating that boosting female entrepreneurship could deliver as much as GBP 60 billion to the UK economy by 2030, and I was delighted to vote in favour of this report."@en1
