"I voted along with ALDE against this joint motion for a resolution on the situation in Burundi. Burundi has reached a stage of absolute chaos where armed forces are arbitrarily killing their own citizens. The unacceptable state of affairs means the international community has to take serious action to avert a civil war, this resolution is simply not enough. First and foremost, peace must be established and international laws respected and applied to be on a first-step basis for violence reduction in the country."@en1
