"Today in the plenary chamber I voted in favour of this resolution. Unrestricted access to biological material is necessary to stimulate innovation in the plant breeding sector. Undermining the ability of plant breeders to innovate and develop new varieties of plants poses a real threat to the future of global food security and will have a serious impact on Europe's competitiveness and very well may lead to monopolies by some companies on the food market."@en1
