"I note three problems with this report, aside from the obvious point that the desire for the EU to speak with a ‘single, consistent voice’ is tantamount to removing national sovereignty over foreign policy: 1. It proposes quota systems for women in democracy. Even if you believe in quotas, it is not for the EU to impose this on third countries. 2. It proposes the abolition of the death penalty worldwide. Even if you oppose the death penalty, it is not for the EU to impose this on third countries. 3. It proposes a new kind of refugee, a ‘climate refugee’. I suspect the consequences of such a proposal have not been properly thought through, and could in fact lead to EVERY person on the planet claiming to be a refugee in Europe."@en1
