"Conservatives voted in favour of this report. We believe that SMEs and microenterprises represent a huge opportunity for growth and job creation and will support any initiatives that help them do this. We believe that the implementation of this facility in many Member States has contributed to economic growth and social inclusion, and has enabled worthy entrepreneurs to get their projects off the ground. Conservatives’ guiding principle is that any proposal or initiatives derived from the EU which has an impact on citizens’ lives, both in terms of financial cost and quality of life, must reflect the principle of ‘EU added value’. We believe that this facility complements initiatives already in place in the Member States, for example in the UK – the British Business Bank. Conservatives will always support initiatives that give hard working people, disadvantaged groups and other target groups, including female entrepreneurs, opportunities to become economically active. We support and welcome innovative ways that create real policy outcomes and represent a shift in how the EU budget is spent."@en1
