"We very much welcome the strengthening of this legislation, which will ensure the EU is not complicit in torture. It will also fulfil our commitment to standing against the death penalty and torture, throughout the world. We must do everything we can to ensure EU companies are not profiting from torture in oppressive regimes. In particular, we welcome new measures which will improve the speed of reacting to suspected transactions involving goods used for execution and torture. Labour MEPs strongly support the EU ban on the trade of drugs intended for use in executions."@en1
