lpv:spoken text	"This proposal is crucial for the continued respect that the European Union demonstrates for universal human rights. In limiting the access to goods and substances used to torture and commit capital punishment, these regulations ensure the lives and wellbeing of all are protected. This regulation recognises the importance of impeding entities profiting from the violation of human rights by inter alia selling equipment intended to facilitate capital punishment. Updating the list of death-penalty ‘safe states’ is an important step in encouraging countries to continue treating human rights with due care and respect. The new rules avoid excessive regulation or bureaucratic burdens for legitimate medicine use. The proposal previously only regulated medicinal products for capital punishment but now also regulates for products used for torture or for other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment."@en1
